Read moreIf you wish to explore the wilder slope of Mt Etna and enjoy the highest active volcano in Europe in all its glory, though in total safety following an expert nature guide, this is the Mt Etna tour for you!
A long hike discovering the little known flank of Etna, through various woodlands, pinewoods and vast lava fields. From Nicolosi, climbing up towards C.da Milia by minibus, amid fruit orchards, bearing mostly apples and pears. Once past the mighty Monte Intraleo, we'll go to the carpark at Piano Fiera (1500m a.s.l.). Hiking through pine-woods which cover the ancient Monte Nespole craters, to then go along the 1974 lava fields originating from Monti de Fiore (1730m a.s.l.). Continuing through various woodlands and ancient lava flows to the Monte Egitto crater. Going along a vast 1651 rope lava field trail, to reach the Monte Scavo refuge to then go to the Monte Palestra refuge (1900m a.s.l.), then crossing the great Adrano woods trail, which will take us back to Piano Fiera.
Duration: 9:00 am to 18:00
Elevation gain: 400 m. Elevation loss: 400 m.

What is included
- Guided Hiking Tour with multilingual naturalistic guide (belonging to the A.I.G.A.E., Italian Association for Professional Nature and Walking Guides)
- We provide a pick-up service from your accommodation or collection point and back (for the list of places covered by the service refer to "how to reach us" field). Upon booking please note the site where you need to be picked up.
- Means of transport: minibus. Rate includes a packed lunch (sandwiches).
- Everything that is not specified in the "include".

- We recommend layered clothing that is ideal for all weather conditions.
- Optional equipment: windcheater, hiking shoes, backpack containing rain-jacket and rain-pants, water-bottle, sunscreen, hat, batteries, eventually a change of clothes that you can leave in the minibus

- In case of bad weather conditions, if the organizer considers inappropriate/unsafe to operate the service, you will agree a new date with your guide. If it will not be possible to arrange a new date, you will be refunded.

Cancellation policy
- In the case of withdrawal before 24h or on the day of the event the amount paid will not be reimbursed. In the case of withdrawal before 48h, will be reimbursed just 60% of the amount paid.
