Since 2014, the Sicilian Region has been promoting inclusive and eco-sustainable hospitality through initiatives such as the Accessicily project, created to improve the accessibility of the tourist offer. This is how we can promote accessible tourism in Sicily: an experience for all.
Thanks to the passion and commitment of local tour operators, today more and more people with reduced mobility can discover the wonders of Sicily without barriers.
And so Sicilying launches its accessible tours, with the aim of making Sicily, with its unique scenery, accessible to everyone, including the more than 200,000 people with disabilities (according to a study by Federalberghi) who choose our island for their holidays every year.
Guests with reduced mobility can thus spend half a day on Europe’s highest volcano and reach an altitude of 2500 metres, from where they can admire not only the breathtaking panorama but also the summit craters. This is a private tour and is conducted with a driver/escort who will take care of every request.
